What are the types of investor categories for IPO application?

IPO applications in India are divided into the following investor categories, based on the investment amount and eligibility:

1) Retail Individual Investors (RIIs): Individuals applying for Lots from 15,000 rs to 2,00,000 rs.

2) High Net-worth Individuals (HNIs) /Non-institutional Investors (NIIs): Investors applying for IPO Lots from 2 Lakh to 5 Lakh rs.

3) Qualified Institutional Buyers(QIBs) : Large institutions like mutual funds, banks, etc.

4)Employees: Employees of the issuing company. (Category availability depends on IPO Structure)

5) Shareholder: individual who has share of company (parent/ subsidiary). (Eligibility conditions & Category availability as per IPO Structure)
