What is an IPO?

An IPO (Initial Public Offering) is the process through which a company offers its shares to the public for the first time and gets listed on stock exchanges such as NSE and BSE.

Through an IPO, a company raises funds from public investors. This money is generally used for business expansion, repayment of loans, or other corporate purposes.

For share market investors, IPOs provide an opportunity to participate in a company’s growth at an early stage. With proper understanding and careful selection, investors can explore short-term or long-term investment opportunities through IPOs.
